Toddler Room

Children in the toddler room are beginning to master skills of independence such as walking, talking and self-feeding.  Children in this classroom vary in age from 9 months to 18+ months.  Teachers in this classroom foster development in language skills, social skills, self-feeding skills, following a daily schedule/routine, and gross motor development. One will find the teachers constantly interacting with the children and teaching important social skills and language skills through play.  The students sit together at meal times and all nap at the same time.  Toddlers participate in music and chapel twice per week and enjoy visits from Hitchcock Nature Center and the local librarian once per month.  The lead teacher administers ongoing assessments to monitor growth with each student.  All staff are certified in CPR and First Aid.
